Conditions of Rega patronage

Rega is totally dependent on the financial support of its patrons in order to be able to operate a professional, round-the-clock air-rescue service with the best available equipment at its disposal.

You can become a Rega patron by paying the following minimum contributions:
Fr. 30.-- per person
Fr. 70.-- per family (parents and children under the age of 18 on the day of
  payment)
Fr. 40.-- for one-parent families (single parents and children under the age of 18 on
  the day of payment)

In grateful acknowledgement of patrons' support, Rega shall waive the cost of any emergency services which have been provided by or organised through Rega on their behalf, in accordance with the list below, in the event that medical insurances or any other third party under obligation to pay fail to meet the costs of the rescue operation, either wholly or in part.

1. Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein

Rescue and medically justified flights to the nearest suitable hospital
Rescue operations conducted by rescue teams from the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC)
Search flights in collaboration with the police and other competent organisations,
provided that there is reasonable hope of being able to locate and help the missing
  persons
Evacuations and preventative operations where life is in danger
Flights to recover dead persons, in agreement with the appropriate authorities
Flights to recover or rescue injured, sick or dead livestock and transport them to the
nearest location that can be reached by another means of transport, provided that
the owner of the livestock is a family patron.

2. Worldwide

Expert medical advice by Rega's Operations Centre in the event of medical problems
  arising abroad.
Medically justified repatriation flights to Switzerland for patrons domiciled in
Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, as well as for Swiss patrons living
  abroad.

Patronage is valid for the current calendar year and takes effect upon payment of the patronage contribution. In the case of non-renewal, patronage shall cease to be valid on 15 May of the following year.

Rega renders its services without any legal obligation, as these services can only be provided within the limits of the staffing and technical possibilities, as well as the support resources available. Rega may be hindered from carrying out rescue missions, in particular due to operational, medical or meteorological reasons.

Rega shall organise each rescue mission individually according to medical, social and operational criteria. Rega determines how and when the mission is to be carried out. Rega shall also be entitled to commission other organisations to perform rescue operations on its behalf.

Rega's Operations Centre (emergency no. 1414 within Switzerland or +41 333 333 333 from abroad) is manned around the clock, ready to accept calls from anyone in need of help, whether as a result of an accident or serious illness.
